Understanding Your Phobia And What You Can Do About It
If your phobia is preventing you from doing something you really want to try and do then you would like to do something to urge over it
Years ago there was once a method referred to as 'immersion therapy'. Somebody -presumably an enemy -would force you to try and do the factor you fear. The thinking behind this was that once you probably did the task or had the expertise you fear you would notice how irrational it was and not have the phobia any more. Typically it really worked. Most times it just created you hate the one who forced you to act and the phobia became enhanced with the extra traumatic experience.
Then the Freudians put their take on it and said that phobias were a results of unconscious sexual wishes from that you needed to guard yourself and thus the concern was placed on an external object.
